Guardian Program

SandyPaws Goldens has enjoyed the opportunity of acquiring puppies from different breeders around the country and even Europe. Working with other breeders allows us to diversify our lines.  We want all SandyPaws Goldens dogs to live their best lives in their forever homes and be well mannered, happy dogs with amazing families that love them….so, we have opted to share our fur-babies with families in the area.

We want all SandyPaws Goldens to have stability and consistency in their lives.  A guardian program benefits  all who are involved, but especially the dog.  Our dogs live with their forever family and come to visit us as needed.  SandyPaws Goldens dogs come back to us for breeding and a week before the expected arrival of puppies.  The puppies are whelped and raised here at SandyPaws Goldens. Our guardian families are welcome to visit and snuggle puppies and of course visit your girl!  Females will return to their guardian family when puppies leave for their forever homes at 8 weeks. Maintaining our guardian program in this way ensures the dogs get all of their needs met and have two loving families that they know and grow to love. Ownership and breeding rights are retained by SandyPaws Goldens until the dog is retired or removed from our breeding program. Ownership of the dog will be transferred to the guardian family at that time.

SandyPaws Goldens females usually have 4 litters during their breeding career. They are raised in your home, cared for as your dog and incorporated into our breeding program, hearts and lives.  Our breeding girls can live up to 3 hours away.  Transporting the girls back and forth as needed is the responsibility of  the guardian family.  We will help when we can but ultimately it is on the guardian family. Our males usually stay a part of our breeding program for up to 6 six years of age.

SandyPaws Goldens is always looking for guardian families. This is a great opportunity to love and raise the breeders pick of the litter.  Guardian family responsibilities include routine veterinary care (vaccines, heart worm and flea preventative) and other veterinary expenses for anything considered non-breeding related, grooming, training, food, and of course lots of love and snuggles. SandyPaws Goldens covers any and all expenses related to breeding as well as genetic and health testing. Once all testing/health clearances are completed and passed and the dog is of age, he/she will be bred to a mate of our choosing.

To become a SandyPaws Goldens guardian family a non-refundable $500 deposit/program fee is required. When your SandyPaws Goldens dog is retired from our breeding program your $500 deposit/program fee is refunded to you. We do not charge our guardian families a rehoming or transfer of ownership fee.
